Some of the SMELLIEST animals on earth

Some animals smell foul for a number of reasons.
In some cases it's a self-defense mechanism; if they feel threatened they will release a noxious spray which will deter any predator. Others may use their musk to mark their territory or keep their food safe from scavengers or it may be that their hair is continually sprayed with their own urine.
Read on to learn some fascinating facts about some of the world’s smelliest animals.

Bombardier Beetle

Bombardier Beetle
These beetles are most notable for the defense mechanism that gives them their name: when disturbed, they eject a hot noxious chemical spray from the tip of their abdomen. The beetle has two separate chemicals, hydroquinone and hydrogen peroxide, stored in its body and whenever it feels threatened the chemicals mix with some special enzymes, heat from the reaction brings the foul-smelling liquid to near 100°C and produces gas that drives the ejection. The Bombardier Beetle is able to spray up to 4 times its body length and the damage caused can be fatal to attacking insects and small creatures and is painful to human skin.

Wolverine

Wolverine
Wolverines are shy members of the weasel family, seldom seen by humans. Like most members of the weasel family, it has glands that it secretes fluid from to mark its territory. The musky scent is very unpleasant and has given the wolverine the nicknames of “skunk bear” and “nasty cat”. Wolverines will also spray their leftover food and bury it so they can eat it later. Not only does this help them find it but it deters others from eating it!
Discover how female wolverines ensure their young are born when food is plentiful in our Animals A-Z section.

Stink Bug

Stink Bug

Native to China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan, Stink Bugs are now found in almost every area of the United States after being accidentally introduced. They get their name from the unpleasant odor of the chemical they produce in glands on their abdomen when they are threatened. Some species can actually spray the chemical several inches!

Musk Ox

Musk Ox
These furry, horned mammals that inhabit the Arctic produce a smelly ‘musk’ from their urine. It is only produced by the males and it is used to mark their territory during mating season. This is important because during the mating season male musk oxen are very aggressive. When they mark their territory, a lot of the urine gets matted into the hair around the belly of the animal; this is the reason for their generally bad smell.

Tasmanian Devil

Tasmanian Devil

Now found in the wild only on the Australian island state of Tasmania, these creatures can give off a very powerful odour when under stress, this helps them to protect their environment, but when calm and relaxed they are not smelly at all.

Lesser Anteater

The lesser anteater has been regarded as one of the most foul-smelling creatures in the animal kingdom. Their pungent odour is about 4 to 7 times stronger than that of the skunk. It is possible to smell the lesser anteater up to 50 metres away!

Adopting an animal

Now,  nearly everybody loves animals...  A lot of people want to l adopt one. But itou can't care for it and you really love it you would do the best thing for it and not adopt it... But to have a dog for example people say you need a big fenced garden and ypu eed to take it for long walks every day etc but if you adopt a dog from a shelter and you dont have a big fenced garden...  Maybe you could keep it inside or something it would have a better life then at the shelter it would be more safe, healthy and happy if you give it lots of love ;)  so i think nearly eny dogs life out of the shelter if you care for it, love it and keep it happy is better than a shelter....

Husky

Husky /ˈhʌski/ is a general name for a type of dog used to pull sleds in northern regions, differentiated from other sled-dog types by their fast pulling style.[1] They are "an ever-changing cross-breed of the...fastest dogs."[1] The Alaskan Malamute, by contrast, is "the largest and most powerful" sled dog,[2] and was used for heavier loads. Huskies are used in sled dog racing. In recent years, companies have been marketing tourist treks with dog sledges for adventure travelers in snow regions as well.[3] Huskies are also today kept as pets, and groups work to find new pet homes for retired racing and adventure trekking dogs.

I strongly believe in animal rights and I'm against the cruelty towards animals especially, because animals DO have feelings just like we do and cruelty towards an animal is wrong and unacceptable. Its not a joke, this is reality, this is hurting a living, breathing creature that feels pain. I can't believe the things I've seen, watched and read about of how and what people do towards animals. We take advantage of animals, and its time we all start treating them with respect that they well and truly deserve. They are more scared of you then you are of them they are gods creatures and they deserve respect!

Like/Comment if you believe this is true!
Thank You! ;)

WHAT WIL YOU BE GETTING DRESSED THIS YEAR??

Polar Bears !

The polar bear is a carnivorous bear whose native range lies largely within the Artic Circle encompassing the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and surrounding land masses. It is a large bear, approximately the same size as the Omnivorous Kodiak bear.

A boar (adult male) weighs around 350–700 kg, while a sow (adult female) is about half that size. Although it is the sister species of the brown bear,[5] it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological niche, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which make up most of its diet. Although most polar bears are born on land, they spend most of their time at sea. Their scientific name means "maritime bear", and derives from this fact. Polar bears hunt their preferred food of seals from the edge of sea ice, often living off fat reserves when no sea ice is present.

The polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species, with eight of the nineteen polar bear subpopulations in decline. For decades, large scale hunting raised international concern for the future of the species but populations rebounded after controls and quotas began to take effect. For thousands of years, the polar bear has been a key figure in the material, spiritual, and cultural life of Arctic indigenous peoples, and polar bears remain important in their cultures.

2nd coolest animal on earth!

DRAGONs

I love dragons. I love tigers too, but I really don't like lions, so I don't really like ligers. Dragons are the most famous of all mythical creatures. I'm pretty sure there's no way any other creature here except a magical Tiger or a magical elephant could destroy it.
How is a liger better they are just a lion and a tiger mixed together. If I would I would go out to the store and buy a liger right now. I say that dragons rule because they can breath fire and no other animal can do that except for humans that have adapted to it!
Dragons are probably the most interesting mythical creatures that I have ever read about. They have amazing skills like breathing fire, strength, powerful wings for flight. to be honest its my favourite of all creatures.
Dragons can fly. AND BREATHE FIRE. What's not to like about them? They are just so awesome and epic.

The truth about animal shelters

A lot of people know about animal shelters... people think animal shelters are places where they have a lot of animals and they have a lot of money and all the animals are happy!

Well that's not true as  I said on my last post I visit a dog shelter very often and the shelter doesn't have a lot of money, some dog are un happy, some are sick some are very shy and some are happy.
Most of them re very happy when visitors come to see them ;)
The dogs there need attention... they want a forever home for someone to love them and care for them!

The dogs that are there each have their own history some were dumbed some where lost some where abused some there owners left to go live I another country and didn't want to take them
with them etc. The volunteers that go there help wash the dogs bowls, fill their waters, scoop the poop pet the dogs, take them for walks etc.

Lots of people don't spay their dogs and let them have puppies then they cant keep all the puppies so they take them to the shelter and then the puppies grow up there unhappy cause they don't get enough attention and IF THEY ARE LUCKY they will get a home. Some dog though get sick and die some die of age and SOME get a home while others live there life in the shelter.
I often go and help as much as I can.
I have known dogs since they where puppies and grow up and still haven't got a home I have known dogs that died from a sickness and very little amount that got a home.

My 1st bog/post !!!!

In this blog I will post pictures, information etc. for animal lovers :)
I've always loved and lived with animals they are my life :)
